Velvet Elvis

OK. I just can't wait until Thursday. I have to tell you about Rob Bell's New book Velvet Elvis. I can't recommend this book highly enough. Seriously, stop what you are doing and go buy it now. I have seen it in virtually all mall bookstores I have been to in the last couple of week or you can order it through the links below. It is available in several formats. I have the audio and the print versions. Has anyone else read this? If so, voice your opinion in a comment.
CLICK HERE for a sample chapter. And check out my review on Amazon.

P.S. I'll still post something new on Thursday

Let me second what Adam said. This is an AMAZING book. Most definently in my top 3 books. It is just a wonderful book. Rob's use of looking at the Old Testament culture and how if we look from that context into Jesus' context of his stories, actions, talks, etc. is amazing and very inciteful. I'm going to review the book on my blog (FREE PUBLICITY!!). I give this book a very HIGH recommendation....so much so that I may go read it again right now :)

Adam, sorry I had to run in the middle of our conversation (or maybe you left your computer as well). Talk with you sometime this week.

You are right on! I am loving this book as well. Before I bought it I checked out some reviews on Amazon and some of them almost discouraged me from buying it. However, I realized some of them have agendas of their own and nothing Rob has done (sermon, nooma) has let me down yet. Great reccomendation brother!

i just posted my own review, too - wow, what a book. but it's not for everyone, as the controversy around the 'net can attest.

God Bless!

If you get a chance could you please say a prayer for a little girl named "Rebekah" who has cancer. God knows who you will be praying about! Thank you so much!

Trying to rally some good Christian Prayer for her and her family!
