He is the One who never ceases to work in our lives and the lives of others. We should be focusing in on readiness to work along side of Him as He continues to work in us all.

By the way, congrats on your new baby girl! My new grand daughter was born July 26th. What gifts! (I actually came here to see if your baby had arrived yet.)

Thanks again for sharing this here. I have many friends from high school who have been "turned off" by Christians that just love talking to you. They are probably remembering the conversations that they had with me way back where I stubbornly told them that the Bible said they had to take the Lord's Supper every first day of the week. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't find that in there to validate my strong opinion. I'm sure they're all thanking God that you got a hold of me. I love the way we've grown together with this stuff. I only pray that I have an experience like this that you've wrote about!!! I love you! You're my hero!Danahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06199572539645442950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777715.post-80930880330053632172007-05-28T09:47:00.000-07:002007-05-28T09:47:00.000-07:002007-05-28T09:47:00.000-07:00Adam,Great story. I've often wondered why we as Christians feel like the only successful conversations we have with nonbelievers (or "the unchurched") are ones that end in a conversion experience.

Prime example of this mentality...ever seen Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort on TV? I can't imagine two men (plus a video crew) coming up to me and telling me I'm a sinner, doomed to hell, being a good way to get me to listen to what they have to say.

When I think about "evangelism methodology", It seems to me that our first (and last) motivation should be love. Not love plus "we want to convert them" or love plus "they need to be a part of our church".

Love. (All you need is love).

Anything more is an agenda. To paraphrase Rob Bell, if it's love plus an agenda, then it's not really love, is it?

If we love others as Christ loves us, conversions will happen. Boundless, unconditional, extravagant love is contagious. It can't be contained or constrained. Even if you have your headphones on! Again, great story.

In Christ,

AaronAaronhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08723922142417467751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777715.post-16140469752164877832007-05-22T11:19:00.000-07:002007-05-22T11:19:00.000-07:002007-05-22T11:19:00.000-07:00Yes, that's a cool story man.
